Appeal received via our web site address:
Hi, I am looking for help funding a new sports wheelchair for my daughter, we live in Carmel. My daughter Anastasia Blease is 13 years old and has spina bifida and has been playing wheelchair basketball since she was 8 years old, she has played nationally for Wales under 15s each year since she was 9, with being selected as vice captain for the past 2 years, winning silver in the Lord taverners junior Championships for the last 2 years also. She plays for North Knights and won gold with her under 15s team as the only girl selected in the 2017 Junior league. She has recently been selected for the GB under 24s women’s squad, being the youngest girl selected in the country. During the past year Anastasia has won many awards, such as Denbighshire disability sports award, British wheelchair basketball rising star award, British wheelchair basketball young female player of the year award, sports excellence award for disability Wales and is an I am embolden ambassador for deaf and disabled women. Anastasia is also a young ambassador for disability sports working with our local Flintshire sports officer through her school, St Richard Gwyn. Anastasia has just been measured for a new sports chair which will enable her to progress and success in the sport, and will enable us to show local talent on the world wide stage, I am looking locally to see if there are any organisations who would be willing to donate to our cause , local support for a local rising star. The chairs are a very expensive piece of equipment which are made to measure for each individual ensuring they are comfortable and able to perform to the maximum ability. I would very much appreciate your response, and of there is any help that can be offered.
The Club were delighted to respond to the appeal by way of a donation of £500 – presented by Community Service Chairman Gareth Owen and the secretary of the Club.
